Seth A. Harris

Seth A. Harris was born in 1964 and admitted to practice law in New York in 1989. He is a 1985 graduate of Vassar College in New York and received his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1987. Before opening his practice in 1993, Mr. Harris worked in the prominent New York law firm of Damashek, Godosky & Gentile and at the Legal Aid Society of New York. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, District of Columbia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Harris is a member of the "Million Dollar" Advocates Forum, serves on the Judicial Screening Panel and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member and the Deputy Treasurer of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and sits on their vicarious liability sub-committee. Mr. Harris has also lectured before the New York State Trial Lawyers Association on trial practice in State and Federal Courts. Mr. Harris' areas of concentration are Catastrophic Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death and Construction Accidents.

Jean M. Prabhu

Jean M. Prabhu was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1953 and was admitted to practice law in New York in 1982. She graduated from Summa Cum Laude from Long Island University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1978, and has an extensive nursing background, education and experience. Ms. Prabhu received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1981. While in law school she was a member of Brooklyn Law Review, and was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts and Contracts. Ms. Prabhu is the author of Coverage Under the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act Amendments of 1972, 46:4 B'klyn L. Rev. (1980).

Prior to joining Burns and Harris in 2002, Attorney Prabhu worked as an associate in the law firms of John Chambers Associates, P.C., and Weinstein, Chayt & Bard, P.C. She also worked for the New York City Law Department Corporation Counsel's Office and interned at United States Attorneys Office in both the Southern and Eastern districts. Ms. Prabhu served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seamen's Society for Children and Families and as a member of the board of directors of the Center for Elimination of Violence in the Family. Ms. Prabhu's areas of concentration are personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.

David M. Freeman

Attorney David M. Freeman joined Burns and Harris in 2005. He began his legal career with Harry Organek, Esq. in 1999 where he conducted trials and managed cases. From 2001 to 2004 Mr. Freeman worked as a plaintiff's and defendant's trial attorney with Waxman & Wincott in Woodbury, New York, and litigated personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. He worked as an associate with Kenneth J. Ready & Associates in 2004 before he became managing attorney with Ornstein & Ornstein, P.C. in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Freeman concentrates on the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, labor law and wrongful death.

Katherine M. Burns

Attorney Katherine M. Burns is a former partner with Burns and Harris and now serves of counsel to the firm. Previously she was a partner with Burns & Hernandez, Esqs., prior to which she was an associate at Philip M. Damashek, Esq. Ms. Burns was awarded a J.D. from New York Law School in 1979 and was admitted to the New York Bar, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1980, and to the U.S. Supreme Court 1984. Her professional activities are as follows: President, the Bronx Women's Bar Association, Director, Metropolitan Women's Bar Association, Past, President, Metropolitan Women's Bar Association.

Director, Brookdale Foundation, Past Director, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Past Director, Girls Club of New York.
